Our esteemed colleges, Girl Meets Dirt, make some of the highest quality, locally sourced, organic fruit preserves & shrubs nature and careful craft can provide. Located on Orcas Island, Washington, they classically prepare their preserves by hand in copper pots, with only organic fair trade unrefined cane sugar, a squeeze of organic lemon, and perfectly ripe single varietal fruit.
Maker: Girl Meets Dirt
Origin: Orcas Island, Washington
Description: Girl Meets Dirt Cutting Preserves are "membrillo" style, highly concentrated fruit spreads, similar to a fruit butter. Slowly cooked and reduced over time, water from the fruit is evaporated for a firmly set fruit puree that is beautiful for sweet & savoury pairings, cheese & charcuterie or spread on hot, toasty bread and butter.
Crafted with island-sourced tart heirloom crabapples and apples, this preserve has great balance (not to mention color!) Not too sweet, with a hint of acidity.
Recommended Pairings: Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Charcuterie
(Ingredients: handpicked crabapples, organic cane sugar, organic lemon juice.)
